How do I get a client_id and client_secret?

Please contact your Coolblue business representative or the Business Journeys team to start the onboarding process. Once approved, we will issue credentials for the relevant APIs.

How are secrets shared securely?

We require an email address and mobile phone number for your technical contact. Secrets are shared securely using two‑factor authentication over these channels.

Can we rotate our client_secret?

Yes. Contact the Business Journeys team and we will arrange a rotation, sharing the new secret securely via the same process.

Environments & URLs

My order never gets shipped / no emails are sent – why?

Most likely you are using the Acceptance environment. Orders created there are not processed and all transactional communication (emails and SMS) is disabled.

Switch to the Production environment once you are ready to go live. See Environments for details.

How do I know which base URL to use?

Each API has separate base URLs for Acceptance and Production. Refer to the Environments page and the relevant “Getting started” page for your API.

Business API

Why do I get 401 Unauthorized responses?

Common causes are invalid or expired access tokens, missing Authorization: Bearer <token> header, or using a token from a different environment. Make sure you:

Ensure you are calling the correct environment and using the right identifiers for your business customers. If the issue persists, contact support with the request details and correlation IDs.

Cafetariaplan API

My Cafetariaplan order is rejected – what could be wrong?

Typical reasons include invalid employer/employee identifiers, budget issues, or missing required fields. Check the error message and compare your request with the examples in the Swagger UI.

Communities API

Why does my user not appear in the community?

Check that you are using the correct community identifier for the environment and that the user is allowed to join or is already a member according to your configuration.
